Hi, I'm Lakshmi — and this is my journey.

For five years, I worked in the IT sector as a Business Analyst. On paper, everything looked perfect — I had a successful career, a good salary, and promising prospects. But deep inside, I felt a persistent pull toward something more meaningful… something closer to my heart.

Even though my MBA equipped me for the corporate world, it didn’t fill me with the passion I longed for. Something was missing — and I knew exactly what it was.

Rooted in Tradition, Raised with Craftsmanship

My family has a legacy of over 40 years in the textile industry, especially in sarees. I grew up surrounded by rich fabrics, vibrant colors, and the beautiful art of weaving. Sarees were not just garments in our home — they were stories, traditions, and memories wrapped in six yards of elegance.

From a young age, I was captivated by the grace and beauty of sarees. I wore them to every occasion, not out of obligation, but out of love. They became a part of my identity — a reflection of who I am.

A Dream Woven in Threads

As years went by, my admiration turned into a passion. I began collecting sarees, each one telling a unique story, each one a piece of heritage. The idea of curating a personal collection of handpicked, authentic sarees from across India started to take shape.

More than just collecting, I dreamed of sharing these pieces of art with others — to create a space where tradition meets elegance, where heritage is celebrated, and where every saree has a story.

And So, House of Apsara Was Born

House of Apsara is not just a business — it's my heart and soul. It’s a tribute to generations of weavers, artisans, and the unmatched craftsmanship that has defined our cultural legacy.

Through this platform, I aim to bring you a carefully curated collection of sarees — each handpicked, each woven with love, and each representing the timeless beauty of Indian tradition.

We take great pride in our weaving connections, built over decades, and feel a deep responsibility to give back to this incredible community that has given us so much.

This is more than a career shift — it’s the beginning of a soulful journey. I’ve chosen to walk a path that truly fulfills me, and I couldn’t be more excited (and nervous!).
